Terms of Service Agreement

Thank you for choosing Lighten Your Load Laundry Service for your laundry care needs. We are delighted to serve you and want to ensure a seamless experience. These Terms of Service (the “Agreement”) outline the services we provide and the expectations for our partnership. By using our service, you agree to the Terms of Service outlined below. 1. Scope of Services
We provide a residential and commercial laundry service that includes:

Pickup of laundry items,

Washing,
-
Drying,
-
Folding, and
-
Delivery back to you.
Scheduling: Pickup and delivery times will be arranged with our team via phone, email, or text. While we strive for consistency, scheduling may vary to improve efficiency or accommodate demand.
2. Per Pound Service Pricing

One time services and commercial accounts are priced by the pound.

Minimum Service Amount: All per pound orders, including commercial services, must meet a minimum service amount of $40 per order. Orders below this amount will still be charged at the minimum rate.

Delivery Costs: Delivery costs are including in the per pound pricing.
Price Adjustments: We reserve the right to adjust pricing with advance written notice.
3. Payment Terms

Accepted Payment Methods: We accept checks, credit cards, and other approved payment options.

Billing Schedule: Payments are due weekly, in advance of each service period.

Monthly Billing - Commercial Services Only: A monthly invoice option is available, and will reflect the total service weight and costs.
Failed Payments:

Returned checks or declined transactions will incur a processing fee.

Service will not resume until the outstanding balance is paid in full.
4. Pickup and Delivery Policy

Mutual Agreement: Pickup and delivery schedules will be determined collaboratively with our team.

Flexibility: We will do our best to accommodate specific preferences, but exact times cannot be guaranteed.

Turnaround: Our laundry service operates on a two-day turnaround. One-day turnaround may be requested for an additional cost, schedule permitting.
5. Rescheduling & Missed Pickups:

A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to reschedule a pickup.

If your laundry is not ready at the scheduled time, a $20 fee will apply. We will determine feasibility to return for a second pickup attempt at the request of the customer, on a case by case basis.
6. Your Responsibilities
To ensure smooth service, we kindly ask you to:

Submit only items in good condition, free of pre-existing damage.

We do not dry clean items. We can hang-dry items, but they must be placed in a separate bag inside your provided laundry bag and labeled with the necessary request.

Special Requests: Lighten Your Load Laundry Service reserves the right to decline any special requests that we deem unnecessary or unreasonable. Items associated with such requests will be returned to you unserviced.
7. Limitations of Liability
While we handle your items with care, please note the following limitations:

We are not liable for color fading, shrinkage, or reactions caused by detergents, fabric softeners, or other laundry products. Any concerns with these products should be directed to their manufacturers.

Our liability is strictly limited to the cost of the affected laundry service.
8. Termination of Service

You may terminate this Agreement at any time with written notice.

Lighten Your Load Laundry Service may terminate this Agreement at any time, with or without cause, upon providing written notice.
9. Refusal of Service
To maintain safety and hygiene, we reserve the right to refuse service for:

Items deemed unsanitary, soiled, or hazardous, or items infested with bed bugs. lice, fleas or other pests.

Items contaminated with substances such as oils, chemicals, blood, feces, or other materials that pose a health or safety risk.
Such items will be returned to you in a separate bag, unprocessed.
10. Detergent Options
We're an eco friendly company and exclusively use non-toxic, EPA Safer Choice Detergent (ECOS Pro).
We offer two options to meet your preferences:

Unscented
Please indicate your preferred detergent option when setting up your account. Changes to detergent preferences can be requested but must be made in advance of your next pickup.
11. Bag Etiquette
To ensure efficient handling of your laundry, we ask that all laundry adhere to the following bag guidelines:

Laundry must be able to fit entirely within the provided laundry bags after being gift-wrapped or folded.

Overfilled or improperly packed bags may result in an overage cost of $1.50 per pound.

Damaged or broken bags will incur a $10 replacement fee.

Please ensure all laundry is securely placed within the bag, and ensure the bag is fully closed to avoid spills or loss of items during transport.
12. Pickup and Delivery Times

Pickup Days: Your pickup day and window will be arranged prior to your service with our team. Subscription customers will keep the same weekly pickup and delivery schedule. If we need to alter your regular pickup/delivery schedule, you will be given 24 hours notice.

Weather: Schedules may be altered due to inclement weather.

Holidays: Schedules may be affected by holiday hours; any changes to your subscription service schedule as a results of holiday hours will be communicated to you at least 48 hours ahead of the scheduled change.
13. Missed Pickup:

If your laundry is not ready during the scheduled pickup window, a $20 fee will apply, and we will determine feasibility to arrange for a second pickup attempt on a case by case basis.
